About Lynnor Coy

Lynnor Coy, owner of Visage Anti-aging Studio, commenced training in the skincare industry in 1981 initially completing a course in skin therapy, anatomy & physiology, nutrition, aromatherapy and Swedish massage. In 1982 she began her post-graduate training by enrolling in an intensive 5 month electrology course with the Joyce & Neil Blok College where she learnt the Blend method of permanent hair removal (Thermolysis).

Lynnor’s success with Thermolysis encouraged her to seek further specialised knowledge and the following year she trained with Loukia Nicola from the UK in micro-electrocautery. (Ms Nicola pioneered the use of diathermy for the removal of veins, warts, skin tags and moles in the UK in the early 1980’s).

Lynnor has always been totally committed to researching the latest trends in the skincare industry so when Catherine Lee arrived in New Zealand in 1986 and approached her about introducing Cosmetic Tattooing to the NZ public, Lynnor was happy to be linked with yet another pioneer and together they launched what was to become one of the most successful new developments in the beauty industry in many years.

In 1987 Lynnor moved permanently to the Gold Coast of Australia and introduced Cosmetic Tattooing to the local beauty industry. She operated from several notable salons on the Coast and was regularly invited to demonstrate the procedure to beauty therapy students at TAFE College, Ashmore.

Lynnor’s expertise and knowledge in her chosen specialty fields is extensive and she spent the following five years specialising in electrology, micro-electrocautery and cosmetic tattooing. During that period she recognised there was also a strong demand for a “specialised” product range, so in 1992, after more than 12 months’ research she launched Ravir Skin Care – a skincare line from USA which utilised the newly recognised glycolic acid for skin resurfacing.

Ravir Skin Care grew so quickly that Lynnor had to devote herself full time to her new business. She employed the services of her daughter Debra Challis (www.facesbeauty.co.nz)  and after extensive training and a one year apprenticeship Debra took over the business of specialised skin treatments while at the same time assisting with the importing and wholesaling of the product line.

Lynnor successfully continues with the business of Ravir Skin Care and last year launched Visage Anti-aging Studio so that she could personally introduce the latest in local and international advancements within the beauty industry. To ensure that her technical skills and knowledge remain at their highest possible level, she stays abreast of new developments through a combination of association memberships, advanced training and industry research. This continuous commitment to ongoing training ensures that clients benefit from the most advanced techniques available while enjoying unsurpassed patient care.
